Q: Different shops seem to measure differently. How do you measure?

We measure total overall length — from the outermost edge of one end fitting to the outermost edge of the other, including all components in between. This matches how our factory produces cables: we cut to total length. Some shops only quote the bare wire rope length (excluding fittings), which is shorter. If you're comparing prices, make sure you're comparing the same measurement method.

Q: How do I know if my cable needs replacing?

Look for: frayed or broken wire strands, a stiff or crunchy feel when bending, visible rust on the connectors, or the cable slipping during use. If you see any of these, replace it immediately — a snapped cable under tension can cause serious injury.

Q: What thickness cable do I need — 5mm or 6mm?

Most home gyms use 5mm cable (approximately 3/16 inch). Higher-end or commercial-grade machines sometimes use 6mm. Check your machine's pulley groove width — if it's tight with a 6mm, stick with 5mm. If you're unsure, measure your old cable's thickness with calipers, or send us a photo.

Q: My machine model isn't in your tables. Can you still make a cable?

Yes. The tables above cover our most commonly ordered models, but we build fully custom cables for any machine. Send us your model number, a photo of both connector ends, and your cable length — we'll manufacture an exact match.

Q: How long does shipping take?

All cables are made to order. Manufacturing takes 1-2 business days. Standard shipping takes 15-25 business days. Express options are available at checkout.

Q: Do you offer a warranty?

Yes. All our cables come with a satisfaction guarantee for one year. If the cable doesn't fit your machine as specified, we'll remake it or refund you.

Q: There's a rubber ball stopper in the middle of my cable. Do I include it in the measurement?

Yes. The ball stopper is part of the cable assembly. Your measurement runs from the outermost edge of the left end fitting, through the ball stopper and the cable body, to the outermost edge of the right end fitting. Everything counts.

Q: What if I measure wrong?

Contact us immediately at support@jbryantfitness.com. Most orders ship within 2 business days. If you reach us before your order has shipped, we can adjust the specs at no charge. Once a custom cable has been manufactured and shipped, it cannot be returned (it was built to the measurements you provided). This is why we encourage you to email us photos before ordering if you're unsure — it's a free check that takes 5 minutes and prevents a lot of headaches.

Q: I bought a used machine and the cable is completely missing. How do I order?

Use Method 3 — the rope method to trace the cable path. Then email us: (1) your machine brand and model, (2) the rope measurement you got, and (3) photos of both connection points. We'll cross-reference your machine model against our database, compare with your rope measurement, and help you nail the correct length.
